The University of Guam Endowment Foundation, Inc. was established in 1982 as a means of ensuring that the University of Guam remain a shining beacon of hope for students and residents of the western Pacific. Founded by Jesus S. Leon Guerrero, the foundation is dedicated to promoting the university through academic enhancements, scholarship opportunities, and development of creative fundraising opportunities for overall improvements to the campus.
The Endowment Foundation is a non-profit organization under the leadership of a nine-member Board of Directors. Incorporated on July 28, 1988, the foundation has been instrumental in raising over $5 million for the benefit of the University of Guam and its students. In the last year, the foundation has been successful in securing sizeable contributions from the community that will allow for major renovations and improvements to the university.
While the foundation strives to maintain the university’s reputation as a fully accredited academic leader, it is equally cognizant of Guam’s potential role as a transportation, communication and cultural hub for Micronesia. In this education oriented society, the Endowment Foundation remains committed to providing for programs such as the Micronesian Area Research Center, Marine Lab, and the Isla Center for the Arts.
We believe the University of Guam is the best resource for success in the challenges that face our island and the Endowment Foundation is devoted to nurturing this most valuable commodity.
